#51 The Call for Heart-Centered Leadership: Rising Above Fear and Division

Updated: May 12

How do we reform a legal system for over 300 million Americans? The riots aren’t just a response to a single wrongful death; they are a symptom of the constant fear many have been living under. It’s no coincidence that these riots erupted during a pandemic, a time when fear is already heightened across the world. When you pump fear into any living creature long enough, it will eventually fight back.

The constant fear that minorities experience due to their interactions with law enforcement is already overwhelming. Add to that the fear instilled by the media and government regarding COVID-19, and the uncertainty caused by the lack of leadership from elected officials, and you have a country that is deeply afraid

The only way out of this is through strong leadership—leadership that comes from brave men and women who serve selflessly. Unfortunately, there are leaders today who are driving this country into chaos. What we need is not angry, emotional leadership, but leadership rooted in empathy, kindness, and a deep commitment to service.

True leadership is heart-centered. It is kind, empathetic, and grounded in selfless service. Sadly, this kind of leadership is not coming from our elected officials. It must come from the people. So, who will step up?

"Be remembered as the person who always chooses love, not fear" - Charles Mui

"Leadership is not a position or title it is an action and example."

- Robin Sharma

Ask Yourself: Am I, or do I know, a leader making a positive difference in my community?

Action step: Become, or support, a heart-centered leader in your community. Volunteering to help clean up after the riots is a powerful way to spark positive change.

Caution: Leadership has a dark side. Some people will lead others down destructive paths. The world is so starved for leadership that it’s easy for the wrong people to rise to positions of influence. Don’t blindly follow angry, self-serving leaders—they cause more harm than good.
