#44 Embracing Imperfection:Transforming Guilt, Releasing Shame, and Finding Empowerment

Updated: May 12

We  all make mistakes. We’ve all done things we regret, but how

we deal with those mistakes determines the results we attract in the future. You can look at the problems you’ve created and choose to feel disempowered, or you can choose to be empowered. You can lie to yourself, saying that your problems make you less worthy, or you can lie and say they make you more worthy. Either way, you’re telling yourself a story. So, choose the story that empowers you and avoid the one that weakens you.

Guilt and shame can drain your energy and hold you down, but understanding the difference between them will help you process your emotions and move into a space of positive creation.

Guilt and shame are not the same. Guilt is recognizing that you’ve done something wrong and knowing you can do better. Shame, on the other hand, is internalizing those feelings and telling yourself, “I am a bad person.” Don’t allow shame to become part of your identity. You are better without it.

Release the shame and forgive yourself. Accept that life isn’t perfect, and neither are you. Surrender to that imperfection and find the beauty in it—because life is perfect as it is.

"Unlike guilt which is the feeling of doing something wrong, shame is the feeling of being something wrong" - Marilyn J Sorensen

"You either walk inside your story and own it or hustle outside your story for your worthiness"

- Brené Brown

“Surrender and find your life perfect” - CM

Ask yourself: What shame am I holding, and how can I find forgiveness to create empowering feelings instead?

Action step: Surender and find your life perfect.
