#43 Pushing Beyond Your Best: The Path to Excellence and Gratitude

Updated: May 12

Always do your best! No matter what you're engaged in, strive to give your very best effort. Living your best life begins

with the decision to execute with excellence. When you think you’re doing your best, stop and ask yourself, "How can I do better?" Always aim to surpass your current best. It might feel awkward or unnatural at first, but the consistent practice of pushing yourself will start to feel more natural over time.

If you’re a kind person, strive to be even kinder. If you’re a hard worker, aim to become an even better one. There is always room for improvement, and with an attitude of continuous self-betterment, you can be more, achieve more, earn more, and ultimately experience greater happiness.

By being grateful for the opportunity to improve, you’ll generate the focus and energy needed to elevate your performance. The work may not always be glorious or fun—it might even be something you dislike—but do whatever it takes to get where you want to go. We all have to make sacrifices to achieve greatness.

What separates world-class champions from the average person is their willingness to tackle the hard, unglamorous work with full commitment. Champions turn their attitude into gratitude and treat every breath as a gift from God. They honor their time alive by giving the world more than their best.

What you will discover is a rewardthat you couldnever have possibly imagined

"When the road is difficult, times are hard and path is uncertain you can always find peace knowing you did your best” - Charles Mui

“To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice your best” - Legendary Runner Steve Prefontain

"The goal is not to be better than the other man but to be better than your previous self"

- The Dalai Lama

Ask yourself: In what ways can I be better at a thing that I am already really good at?

Action step: During a job or task that you don't like doing, convert your attitude to gratitude and a give a “better than your best” effort with no expectation of any additional reward.
