If you dam up water and prevent it from flowing, the water becomes stagnant, stale, rancid, and toxic. Over time, it loses its vitality and turns into something downright unpleasant. The same is true of your emotional energy. When you don’t allow your emotions to flow and process naturally, they can fester inside you, poisoning you from within. Just as water purifies itself by flowing freely down a river, your emotional energy must also flow to keep you healthy and balanced.
As your emotional energy flows, it helps cleanse your soul. This process allows you to evolve and grow as you experience the natural highs and lows of life. Life is designed to change you, and your emotional energy is the key to that transformation. Each new experience you encounter, whether positive or negative, offers you an opportunity to process your emotions, learn, and grow.
It’s important to remember that emotional stagnation—just like the stagnation of water—leads to toxicity. When we resist our emotions or refuse to process them, they build up, turning into frustration, anxiety, and resentment. Over time, this emotional blockage can lead to a negative mindset and even physical illness. The healthiest way to live is to allow your emotions to flow as they come, just like a river, always moving and purifying itself along the way.
The more you allow yourself to experience life fully, the more you evolve. The natural flow of your emotional energy is tied to the experiences you have, and by opening yourself up to new experiences, you can accelerate your personal growth. In the same way that a river flows faster in a steep canyon, you can speed up your emotional and spiritual evolution by embracing life’s challenges and opportunities with a sense of curiosity and adventure.
Water, when it reaches 213 degrees Fahrenheit, boils and turns into steam, transforming from a liquid into a gas. It rises and takes off into the air, leaving behind its old form and becoming something entirely new. What’s your boiling point? What level of activity, passion, and engagement do you need in your life to reach that critical temperature where you transform and take off to new heights?
This transformation doesn’t happen passively. Just like the water needs heat to reach its boiling point, you need a burning internal desire fueled by passion to reach yours. The more you engage in activities that challenge you, ignite your passion, and push your boundaries, the closer you get to that moment of transformation. It’s about living with intensity, being fully present in every moment, and allowing your emotional energy to flow freely toward the life you want to create.
"Emotions at rest get hard like concrete. Expressing your feelings freely creates flow like a thriving river.” - Charles Mui
"The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind."
– Caroline Myss
Ask yourself: What’s holding you back from letting your emotional energy flow? What can you do to engage in more experiences and reach your boiling point of transformation?
Action step: : Identify a conflict or conversation you have been putting off then commit to having that conversation with the intention to have that stagnant energy become something different.
